1. Introduction

Welcome to Connectionary! This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS word puzzle game. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect

Connectionary collects the information needed to run the game, multiplayer features, purchases, ads, and analytics:

• Anonymous User ID: A randomly generated Firebase Authentication identifier used to keep your game state, multiplayer sessions, gem balance, purchases, and settings working.
• Optional Display Name: If you choose a display name, it is saved and may be shown publicly on leaderboards and in friend or multiplayer features. Please do not use a real name if you do not want it displayed.
• Game and Progress Data: Scores, word matches, completion times, challenge progress, daily challenge results, leaderboard entries, friend relationships, invites, and gem balance.
• Purchase Data: StoreKit product identifiers, transaction identifiers, and signed transaction information used to verify purchases and credit gems or remove ads. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Advertising, Analytics, and Technical Data: App interactions, gameplay events, purchase events, ad impressions or clicks, device/app diagnostics, and similar technical information processed by Firebase Analytics and Google Mobile Ads.
• Local Settings: Preferences such as selected difficulty, display options, cached display name, and purchase flags may be stored on your device.

3. Personal Information

Connectionary does not require a traditional account, email address, or phone number. The app does not ask for or collect:

• Email addresses or phone numbers
• Contact lists
• Precise location data
• Photos or media files

If you enter a display name that identifies you, that display name may be considered personal information and may be visible to other players.

4. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used for:

• Game Functionality: Running practice, progressive, daily, friend, and multiplayer games.
• Leaderboards and Social Features: Displaying scores, rankings, display names, friends, invites, and multiplayer results.
• Purchases and Rewards: Verifying in-app purchases, crediting gems, restoring purchases, and honoring Remove Ads purchases.
• Advertising: Loading, showing, measuring, and limiting interstitial ads unless Remove Ads has been purchased.
• App Improvement and Security: Measuring feature usage, diagnosing problems, preventing abuse, and improving game performance.

5. Firebase Services

Connectionary uses Google Firebase to provide backend services including:

• Firebase Authentication: For anonymous user authentication
• Cloud Functions: For multiplayer game logic
• Cloud Firestore: For storing game data and leaderboards
• Firebase Analytics: For app usage, gameplay, purchase, and ad event measurement

Firebase's privacy practices are governed by the Firebase Privacy Policy.

6. Tracking and Advertising

Connectionary uses Google Mobile Ads to show interstitial ads unless the Remove Ads purchase is active. Google Mobile Ads and related advertising partners may process device identifiers, ad interaction data, diagnostics, and attribution data to deliver, limit, and measure ads. Connectionary also includes SKAdNetwork identifiers for privacy-preserving ad attribution.

We do not sell your information. Advertising and analytics practices are also governed by Google's policies. Your iOS privacy settings, and any permission choices presented by iOS, may affect whether certain device identifiers are available to advertising partners.

7. In-App Purchases

Connectionary offers optional gem purchases and a one-time Remove Ads purchase through Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment information. Connectionary receives transaction information from StoreKit and sends signed transaction information to our Firebase backend to verify purchases, prevent duplicate credits, restore entitlements, and update your gem balance.

8. Data Storage and Security

Game data is stored on Firebase's cloud infrastructure and some settings are stored locally on your device. Firebase and Apple provide security controls for their services, and we use Firebase App Check and server-side validation for protected backend actions. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we limit collection to data needed for the app's features, safety, advertising, analytics, and purchases.

9. Children's Privacy

Connectionary is a word puzzle game suitable for general audiences. The app does not require email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos, or precise location. Players should avoid entering a real name as their display name if they do not want it visible on leaderboards or social features. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a display name or other game data, contact us so we can review the issue.

10. Data Retention

Game data, scores, purchases, gem balances, display names, and leaderboard records may be retained for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain game history, prevent duplicate purchase credits, and protect against abuse. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the policies and settings of the relevant third-party services.

11. Your Choices

• You can avoid entering a display name, or choose one that does not identify you personally.
• You can use iOS privacy settings to manage advertising-related permissions where available.
• You can purchase Remove Ads to disable in-app ad presentation.
• You can uninstall the app at any time to stop future collection by the app.
• You can contact us with privacy questions or deletion requests. Because Connectionary uses anonymous authentication, we may need enough information, such as a display name or app identifier, to locate the relevant data.

12. Third-Party Services

Connectionary uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, backend infrastructure, database, cloud functions, analytics, and app integrity services (Firebase Privacy and Security)
• Google Mobile Ads: Interstitial advertising and ad measurement (Google Privacy Policy)
• Apple StoreKit: In-app purchase processing and purchase restoration (Apple Privacy Policy)

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Connectionary after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

14. International Users

Connectionary is available worldwide. Data may be processed or stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using Connectionary, you understand that information may be transferred and processed outside your country of residence.
